ILIGAN CITY (PIA)-- The Iligan Light and Power Inc. (ILPI) and the Department of Education (DepEd) Iligan City Division executed a Memorandum of Agreement affirming quality education and providing assistance to teachers and students through a partnership, March 15.
ILPI aims to support the Technical Vocational Program of the Senior High School (SHS) students under the DepEd. More than 13 national high schools in the city will benefit from the program.
ILPI Chief Executive Officer and President Ralph B. Casiño said their partnership with DepEd will help improve the skills and knowledge of SHS students.
"It’s something that we feel very excited about because it will enable underprivileged and deserving students to improve their education and hopefully make them more productive citizens," he said.
Casa C. Belandres, the group manager for human resources and administration at ILPI, said the partnership shows how grateful they are to the public for supporting their business over the years.
"This is a way of giving back to the society at large here in Iligan City. We are here, serving the public. In return, we are also giving back what we benefit from this business that ILPI indulges with," she said.
On the other hand, DepEd Iligan’s Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Shambaeh A. Abantas-Usman, is also happy with their partnership with ILPI to further improve the education of young people. (JBM/PIA-10/Lanao del Norte)
