TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Cagayan Branch has awarded a total amount of P1.67 million shares of 10 Local Government Units (LGU) from the Small Town Lottery (STL) proceeds in their respective towns.
The provincial LGU of Cagayan received P763, 761; Tuguegarao City received P186,022; Aparri- P96, 747; Gattaran- P105,650; Lallo- P94,459; Lasam- P102, 932; Piat- P72, 722; Iguig- P51, 365; Enrile- P78, 477, and Solana with P127, 176.
The checks were personally received by the municipal mayors including City Mayor Maila Rosario Ting-Que while Atty. Mabel Mamba, former PCSO director who represented Governor Manuel Mamba, received the check for the province.
PCSO also turned over 150 units of nebulizers, 150 BP apparatus and 49 units of weighing scales to this city as part of its corporate social responsibility.
The awarding was conducted during the inauguration and formal opening of the newly constructed PCSO Cagayan Branch building, located beside the City Hall compound.


General Manager Melquiades Robles said the new office will serve clients from the province, especially those who need medical assistance.
"PCSO is not not only focused on charity works, we are now a revenue generator. We are proud of it because we not only help those who need assistance but also help fill in the government's coffers for development programs and projects," Robles said.
He also encouraged the public to support the lottery games of the PCSO to be able to help, especially those who could not afford to pay their hospital bills. (OTB/PIA Region 2)
