Police facility to rise in Ifugao barangay

LAMUT, Ifugao (PIA) - - A Community Police Assistance Center (COMPACT) will soon rise at   barangay Lawig in this municipality.

Mayor Victomar Bunnol and Police Regional Office – Cordillera (PRO-COR) Director Brigadier General Mafelino Bazar led the groundbreaking ceremony last March 13 that was attended by police and local officials and some residents of the area.

Bunnol lauded the Philippine National Police particularly the PRO-Cordillera for building a facility that will help in the maintenance of peace and order that plays significant role towards economic progress of the place as well as the residents.

"I consider the establishment of the Lawig Community Police Assistance Center as a blessing for the municipality because one of our priorities is peace and order of all barangays. I do believe that it is a joint effort between municipal officials, the PNP and the community," Bunnol said.

Bazar stated that the COMPACT will boost the mobility of the police against criminality and in times of emergencies in said place and nearby barangays. He enjoined the residents to take advantage of the services of the facility when completed.

Bazar also advised the police officers who will be manning the COMPACT to value its importance. “Let us treat as our home because this is our office and we stay here almost the whole day,” he added.

Barangay Lawig is also host to the patrol base of the First Ifugao Provincial Mobile Force Company Second Maneuver Platoon consisting of more than 30 police personnel. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
