DAVAO CITY, March 21 (PIA)-- The Police Regional Office XI is now under the new leadership.
From Brig. General Benjamin Silo Jr., the former director of the PRO XI comes the new director in the person of Brig. General Alden Delvo.
Right after his graduation from the Police Academy, Delvo was designated to head the San Pedro Police Station where he made a mark as one of the ten outstanding policemen nationally by the advocacy spearheaded by the Metro Bank of the Philippines.
He also spared the life of a hostage-taker inside a grocery store in the city, after firing a shot without hitting the perpetrator in 2005.
Silo will be assigned to Camp Crame with the rank of Major General.
He got the admiration of Dabawenyos because it was under his administration that the police and peace and order got high marks in respect, trust, and safety from the people based on a survey called for by the Mindanao Development Authority in 2022.
It was also during his watch that Davao Region became insurgency-free, with the implementation of good governance in the countryside through the National Task Force to End the Communist Armed Conflict by seeing to it that the Revitalized Police Sa Barangay, especially to the geographically isolated and depressed areas were deployed and working to assist the people.
The turn-over of command ceremony yesterday was also attended by Lt. General Filmore Escobal, director of the Police in Eastern Mindanao. (PIA XI-Joey Sem G. Dalumpines)
