DOLE awards Kabuhayan starter kits to 33 workers in Angadanan

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) -  Isabela Field Office recently awarded P698,152 worth of Kabuhayan Starter Kits to 33 workers in the town of Angadanan this province.

The awarding of starter kits was led by DOLE - IFO Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Froctoso Agustin, Angadanan with Mayor Joelle Mathea Panganiban and Public Employment Service Officer Marie Joy Alviar.

DOLE Isabela Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Froctoso Agustin said the beneficiaries are workers engaged in dressmaking, nail care services, bamboo processing, baking and pastry and snack vending.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Isabela Field Office recently awarded the P.698 million worth of Kabuhayan Starter Kits to 33 workers in the town of Angadanan.

Agustin said the Kabuhayan Program is the DOLE’s contribution to the governments’ agenda of inclusive growth through massive job generation and substantial poverty reduction. 

He said the program reduces the vulnerability to risks of the poor, vulnerable and marginalized workers by providing them access to a grant assistance for capacity-building on livelihood ventures either for individual or group undertakings.

He also said the DOLE Isabela will continue its Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program to benefit the marginalized residents in the province and continue providing livelihood to indigent individuals. 

Meanwhile, Mayor Panganiban expressed her thanks to DOLE for the assistance extended to the small workers in the town.

Panganiban said the assistance will surely be used to increase their income using the tool kits the DOLE has provided for them. (OTB/MGE / PIA Isabela)
