
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet(PIA) -- Police Brigadier Geneneral David Peredo, Jr. of Sagada, Mountain Province formally assumed the helm of the Police Regional Office - Cordillera (PRO-Cor).
Area Police Command - Northern Luzon (APC-NL) commander PLTGen. Felipe Natividad presided the turn-over of command ceremony held at the Masigasig Grandstand in Camp Major Bado Dangwa, here on Tuesday (March 21, 2023).
Peredo replaced PBGen. Mafelino Bazar who is designated as the acting deputy commander of the APC-NL.
Prior to his assignment, Peredo served as the Deputy Regional Director for Administration of Police Regional Office 5. He also once served as the chief of the PRO-Cor regional staff. He is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy "TAGAPAGPATUPAD" Class of 1992.
In his message, Peredo sought for the full support and trust of the Cordillera police force in sustaining the gains of PRO-Cor particular in promoting peace, order, and safety.
"Today, we shall open a new chapter of this unit rooted in a common aspiration of creating a better and brighter community for our people amidst the challenges confronting us. With the most disciplined cops working beside me, I am sure PRO-Cor is in good hands working for the best interest of the Cordillera region," Peredo said.


Meanwhile, Bazar thanked all stakeholders who have been with him during his seven-month stint as the regional director of the PRO-Cor.
"It is a great privilege for me to be given the opportunity to serve our kakailian in the Cordillera region and to work with the most disciplined cops in the Philippines. To the men and women of Police Regional Office - Cordillera especially to the Command Group, thank you for being with me and bearing with me in carrying out our job notwithstanding several challenges and pressures along the way," Bazar expressed.
During the ceremony, Bazar was conferred the Medalya ng Pambihirang Paglilingkod for his eminent, meritorious, and invaluable service rendered during his term in PRO-Cor. He also received a memento from the PRO-Cor and the Philippine Army, and plaques of recognition from the Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, and the Cordillera Association of Regional Executives.
In the message of PNP Chief PGen. Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. delivered by Natividad, he congratulated Bazar for doing an excellent job in keeping the peace and order situation in Cordillera under control, and for making sure the PRO-Cor lives up to its reputation as the home of the most disciplined cops.
The PNP chief also welcomed Peredo and expressed confidence that he will lead PRO-Cor with a firm hand and will strengthen its operational and administrative capabilities.

Azurin also urged the PNP Cordillera personnel to continue their efforts to maintain a safe and peaceful region.
"Guided by our peace and security framework M+K+K = K (Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayaan equals Kaunlaran) and KASIMBAYANAN (Kapulisan, Simbahan, at Pamayanan) Program, let us be responsible public servants at all times.
