JASAAN, Misamis Oriental (PIA)--The Misamis Oriental Provincial Police Office (MORPPO), in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Jasaan, the 58th Infantry "Dimalulupig" Battalion (58IB), and the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), held its 2nd round Peace and Order Forum at Radiant Shell, Barangay Upper Jasaan, March 22.
Fifteen barangays from the municipality joined the Integrated Territorial Defense System (ITDS) and Barangay Police Action Teams (BPATs) for awareness and assessment, in line with the current programs of Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo" (KKDT) incorporated by the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) "KASIMBAYANAN" program and the Department of the Interior and Local Government's (DILG) "Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan" (BIDA) campaign.
The goal of the activity is to raise awareness about how to stop insurgencies, reduce drug use, and stop the spread of illegal drugs in the community by using a coordinated and cooperative approach.
Updates on the Support to Barangay Development Projects (SBDPs) on targeted projects and priority barangays under the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC), funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2023, were also discussed. (VPSB/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
