ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) -- The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has activated the Sapian Fire Station (SFS) in Sapian town to make fire prevention as well as suppression services more accessible in the municipality.
The activation was in time with the inauguration and blessing of the SFS new building that was graced by Capiz second congressional district Rep. Jane Castro, vice-governor Jaime Magbanua, Sapian mayor Jose Villanueva and BFP 6 officials led by Regional Director Chief Supt. Jerry Candido, among others.
"I hope that your new fire station will give you an inspiration to further serve and protect town residents from fire incidents," said Castro, adding that the conflagration does not only raze the victims' properties and valuables but also affects their privacy.
Sapian is the last municipality from among 16 towns in the province to activate its fire station.
The establishment of the fire station was initiated by Provincial Administrator Arthur John H. Biñas during his incumbency as the town's local chief executive.
