NCF launches website, honors cultural trailblazers

NEGROS OCCIDENTAL (PIA) -- The Negros Cultural Foundation (NCF), on its 36th anniversary, launched its official website and honored three Negrense cultural trailblazers.

The new NCF website at www.ncfiph.org will serve as a hub for information on the foundation's programs, events, initiatives and even as a fund raising platform for donations.

Set at the grand hall of The Negros Museum, the NCF held the Pagadayaw Awards which recognized three awardees, namely National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Chairperson Victorino “Ino” M. Manalo, NCCA Deputy Executive Director Marichu G. Tellano,  and  Negros Season of Culture (NSC) Founder Angelica Urra-Berrie.

As one of the highlights of the 36th Anniversary of NCF, the Pagdayaw Awards, which was established in 2008, recognizes trailblazers of cultural heritage and artistic expression who have made significant contributions to the development, promotion, and preservation of arts and culture in their respective communities.

The awardees, as a special recognition, received an artwork donated by Negrense prolific visual artists Charlie Co, Wayne Lacson Forte, and Rodney Martinez.

NCF Chairperson Jose Mari Chan and President Lyn B. Gamboa, together with Vice President Cristina Montelibano and Executive Director Tanya P. Lopez, lead NCF in its mission to preserve and promote the arts and culture of Negros Island.

More information about theNCF and its initiatives can be accessed at www.ncfiph.org. (AAL/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
