PIA CamSur ComNet brings gov’t services closer to San Jose, Camarines Sur residents

SAN JOSE, PARTIDO, CAMARINES SUR (PIA) – In line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s mandate to foster continuous collaboration between local government units and national government agencies, the first Serbisyo Caravan led by the Camarines Sur Communicators Network (ComNet) brought various government services, assistance, and programs closer to the residents of San Jose on Tuesday, March 29 at their municipal cultural center.. 

Around 13 NGAs including Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) , Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Goa branch, Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Trade and Industry DTI), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), PhilHealth, Social Security System (SSS) , and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) participated  in the said event.

The three telecommunication companies also joined the caravan for the onsite simcard registration. The Consuelo Chito Madrigal Foundation in Bicol also offered housing programs, scholarships for college students taking up agricultural and entrepreneurial courses.

Other services include easier access to membership information update on government accounts, agrarian and agricultural legal assistance and registry, business registration, job fair, bioservices, irrigation inquiries and application for skills trainings and development programs.

As the first host LGU of the PIA ComNet Serbisyo Caravan, San Jose Mayor Jerold B, Pea expressed his gratitude for the chance  to provide his constituents with easy access to government services right at the LGU's cultural center, saving them time, effort, and resources in traveling to Naga City to visit agencies such as SSS, PhilHealth, and BIR to update their membership sttatus and contributions, 

Mayor Pea expressed gratitude for the opportunity of partnering with key government agencies thru joint effort of providing government acts directly tpo his constituents.

In his speech, Peña said that under his leadership, their municipality will continue to create avenues to cater the needs of the residents, and extended his arm  to the national government agencies in partnering for developmental programs and projects in the future.

He added that people will be satisfied with government performance if they are informed of its roles, mandates and programs.

The Camarines Sur Communicators Network (ComNet) is an organization convened and organized by the Philippine information Agency Camarines Sur Provincial Office. It is composed of public information officers of various NGAs and LGUs in the province.

PIA Cam Sur Provincial Head Ana-Liza S. Macatangay, also the Deputy Regional Head of the PIA Bicol, said in an interview that this Serbisyo Caravan was made possible after Mayor Peña  immediately gave his nod to be the  first host of the Serbisyo Caravan, more so that his residents will be the end recipients of the program. 

PIA Camarines Sur as the comvenor, gathered and ennjoined all  Com Net members to take part in the said event, bring and re- introudce thier programs to the people of San Jose.  

"On behalf of the ComNet members, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) would like to extend our utmost gratiutude to the local government unit of San Jose under the able and dynamic leadership of Mayor Jerold B. Peña.  He indeed set the bar high in terms of e handlilng the event well.  We had the first ever successful Serbisyo Caravan, thanks to Mayor and his ever reliable and industrious personnel. Our hearts are indeed full!," Macatangay said.
