KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) -- As part of its digitalization program, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has deployed a virtual assistant that can provide tax-related services and answer questions.
During the 2023 Tax Campaign kick off on Tuesday, March 28, the BIR-Revenue District Office 111, officially introduced "Revie," the Bureau's interactive tax assistant, to taxpayers in South Cotabato.
Evelyn Mallilin, revenue district officer, said "Chatbot Revie is one of our digitalization projects aimed at providing assistance on TIN inquiries, e-services, BIR forms, and zonal values among others."
Through Revie, a client may check if a tax identification number (TIN) is valid, existing or inactive, verify in which revenue district office he or she is registered, and ask other questions related to taxes.
Using this facility, taxpayers can also submit their grievances and complaints against establishments for non-issuance of receipts and invoices, tax evasion, and other violations against the Tax Code.
They can also report wrongdoings of BIR officials and employees through Revie.
"The Bureau's decision to embark in this digital journey is a positive development for both the taxpayers and the government. It is expected to result in a more efficient and effective tax system in the country," Mallilin said.
Revie, which can be accessed at the homepage of the BIR website, is available 24/7. (PIA SOCCSKSARGEN)
