DTI Isabela kicks off Project MOVE in Tumauini

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Isabela in partnership with LGU Cabagan has launched  the newly conceptualized Project Making Our Vulnerable Empowered or Project MOVE in the town of Tumauini.

The Project MOVE kicked off was attended by at least 54 Senior Citizens and differently-abled persons held on March 29, 223 at the towns gymnasium.

DTI Isabela Trade and Industry Development Specialist Mel Mari Laciste said the Project MOVE of DTI aims to empower and help the vulnerable sectors involving private and public institutions in the country as provided for under Republic Acts 9994 and 7277 respectively.

Meanwhile, DTI Isabela Consumer Protection Division chief Elmer Agorto said that the vulnerable sector like seniors and PWDs can avail discounts in business establishments in purchasing foods, medicines and several other products.

Tumauini Municipal Administrator Lorelei Pua assured the DTI that the Local Government Unit is delivering the needed programs, projects and services the benefit the seniors and PWDs.

The business establishment owners pledged to their compliance with existing laws, ensuring the rights and privileges of the vulnerable sector are upheld. (MGE / PIA Isabela)
