Cauayan City airport police on heightened security alert

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Cauayan City Airport police is on heightened alert for the expected influx of passengers coming in and out of the region.

Cauayan City Aviation Police Chief Capt. Noraleen Lannu said there is an expected influx of passengers in the airport for the observance of the Lenten season and the needed security of the incoming and outgoing passengers must be assured.

Lannu said they have already conducted inspections around the airport and deployed at least 18 aviation police including the K9 unit as a measure to thwart any criminal incidents related to aviation.

The airport police official said that aside from the deployment of aviation police, they also established up two police assistance desk at the arrival and departure area for security assistance of passengers in coordination with the Rescue 922 of LGU Cauayan to deploy rescue personnel.
