CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental (PIA)--As part of the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental’s (PGMO) thrust to recover its tourism industry from the dent caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the PGMO Tourism Council has established its Hotel and Restaurant Association (MOHARA) during its first quarter meeting for 2023, March 31.
"The Misamis Oriental Hotel and Restaurant Association (MOHARA) will be created for the purposes of tapping their involvement in the tourism program of the province of Misamis Oriental," Provincial Tourism Officer Lawyer Jeffrey Saclot said.
Saclot shared that Governor Peter Unabia would like the hotel and restaurant within Misamis Oriental to be organized so that the provincial government can be of help to the said organization.
Meanwhile, to further boost the tourism industry of the province, different tourism sites are set to be renovated to better serve both local and foreign tourists that will visit the province.
Tourism sites such as Sagpulon Falls, the Agutayan White Island jump-off point, and the Philippine Sailfin Lizard Park, all located in the town of Jasaan and the Provincial Capitol Park, among others, are set to have upgraded infrastructure and basic amenities.
With the MOHARA and the upgrading of the different tourist sites in the province, more tourists are likely to come. This can help tourism grow and give Misamisnons more ways to make a living and find work.
The tourism office, together with the tourism council, urges everyone to explore MisOr and be amazed by its beauty. (JAKA/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
