PVAO to establish Veterans Ward at CVMC

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - A 15-bed capacity Veterans Ward will soon be established at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) for veterans and their surviving spouses in line with the Veterans Hospitalization and Medical Care Program of the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) Tuguegarao.

Muriel Viernes, head of the Veterans Service Extension Office Tuguegarao said a Memorandum of Agreement has been signed between the Department of Health (DOH) through the CVMC for the establishment of a 15-bed capacity Veteran's Ward.

Muriel Viernes of PVAO Tuguegarao assured that their office will continue to provide support for that advantage of the veterans and their surviving spouse and heirs.

This will cater to patients who are World War II veterans or their surviving spouses, and also military veterans, to ensure that they are given the needed medical care of expert medical professionals in a conducive health care facility.

Viernes said the PVAO is happy to see the support of CVMC through Medical Center Chief Dr. Glenn Mathew Bggao as he assured space for the proposed ward in one of the soon-to-be-constructed buildings of CVMC.

PVAO wants to ensure that aside from monthly pensions,  veterans and their surviving spouses or heirs also enjoy the rightful benefits due to them from the government.

Viernes said educational assistance is also extended to one of the veterans' heirs for college education as approved by the office. (OTB/GVB/PIA-Cagayan)
