Taguig Eco Park now open to public

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) – The public can now enjoy a walk and other leisure activities at the Taguig Eco Park in Barangay Pinagsama following its recent inauguration.

The 6,332-square-meter recreational park is an addition to the ‘Adopt-A-Park’ urban green space rehabilitation project of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano highlighted the benefits of this initiative in terms of stimulating a healthy and active lifestyle among residents aside from strengthening their sense of community.

“Sa ngalan po ng pamahalaang lungsod ng Taguig, malugod po naming tinatanggap ang eco park na ito na very consistent at tumutugon sa layunin ng City of Taguig to be a transformative, lively, and caring city,” said Mayor Lani, expressing her gratitude to MMDA for aiding in the establishment of public open spaces in the city which is also part of the local government’s primary thrusts.

“Ang parke na ito ay hindi lang magiging lugar ng pag-eehersisyo ng pamilya - kundi lugar para ang pamilya ay makapagsaya at makapag-bonding para mas lalong maging matatag (This park will not only serve as a place where families can exercise together but also a space where they can further strengthen their bond),” she added.

The local chief executive joined MMDA Acting Chairperson Atty. Don Artes in the formal inauguration ceremony of the public park that also features an expansive playground for kids, picnic grounds, resting benches, and other leisure facilities.

The Adopt-A-Park project is a collaborative effort between MMDA and the local government units in Metro Manila to develop or beautify underutilized parks in the existing open spaces in cities towards lessening the environmental impacts caused by the growing urban decay. (PIA-NCR)
