DOLE releases over P4.5M to TUPAD workers in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) — The Department of Labor and Employment – Cagayan Field Office (DOLE-CFO) in partnership with the Office of Vice Governor Melvin K. Vargas recently released wages amounting to P4,515,000 to at least 1,075 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) workers in some municipalities here in Cagayan to include the municipalities of Gonzaga, Camalaniugan, Alcala, Solana and Tuguegarao City.

According to a DOLE news release issued Thursday, each beneficiary who rendered 10 days of community work in their respective towns involving bamboo tree planting at riverbanks, de-clogging of canals, and street cleaning among others, received a salary amounting to P4,200.

Vice Governor Vargas meanwhile expressed his immense gratitude to the DOLE for their continuous support and implementation of the TUPAD program which aims to alleviate poverty and empower disadvantaged individuals, families and communities to improve their living conditions.

The said payout was held from March 31 to April 3, 2023, facilitated by the DOLE-CFO represented by Senior Labor Employment Officer Reynald T. Alan, Labor Employment Officer III Lani Jane D. Delos Santos, together with some field office support personnel. (OTB/MJPT/DOLE Region 2)
