SAN FERNANDO CITY (PIA) --The Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC) was named as the Top 2 best performing hospital by the Department of Health (DOH) in the country.
Bared in the 2022 DOH Performance Monitoring Report, ITRMC garnered a whooping 89 percent performance rate on the scorecard.
There are a total of 70 DOH hospitals nationwide that were monitored and assessed in the previous year based on its attainment of committed deliverables on strategic, core, and support functions.
Dr. Unity Cortez, chief of the Medical Professional Staff II and chairperson of the Performance Management Team, said the ranking was a manifestation of the hardwork and dedication of ITRMC to provide quality healthcare to its patients.
“It is an affirmation for all of us, the ITRMC Family, that we are doing good or maybe beyond good and that we are on the right track,” Cortez said.
Out of the three key functions assessed, ITRMC excelled in its strategic performance, meeting and obtaining the highest score in all its indicators.
Cortez noted that ITRMC is consistent to be among the best and most efficient DOH hospitals in the country as it had placed the first top rank during the assessment of Level 3 DOH Hospitals in the country in 2019 and 2020.
However for 2022, ITRMC committed 28 deliverables of which 25 targets were accomplished and three were unmet.
"Sa recent scorecard, we were rated based on the number of met target versus what we have committed and we were scored 28 over 25 dahil medyo nagkaproblema lang kami sa tatlong indicators kaya tagged as unmet target and that's a lesson learned at kailangan mas pagtuunan namin ng pansin ngayong taon," she said.
ITRMC is steadfast to its vision to be a “people-centered hospital” as it targets not only to render quality but holistic treatment to its patients, and it also seeks to provide care and comfort to the patients’ families.
