BONTOC, Mountain Province (PIA)-- A new barracks for police personnel will soon rise at Camp Lt Geronimo F Montes, the headquarters of the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (MPPPO) in this capital town.
Police Regional Office - Cordillera Regional Director PBGEN. David K. Peredo, Jr., Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog Jr and other officials led the groundbreaking of the new building last April 5. It was blessed by Father Marcial Lloyd C. Castañeda.
The P2.8 million worth projects funded from the Philippine National Police Trust Receipt Fund is targeted to be completed in September this year.
Dalog, Jr. acknowledged the vital role of the PNP in maintaining peace and order in the province and in responding to emergencies. He said the construction of the new building will provide improved and more gracious service to the people.
Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan Jr., represented by Angel Baybay, said that the structure will serve the growing number of police officers serving the people of the province. It will also serve as a symbol of cooperation between and among various sectors in the province.
He thanked the MPPPO for the exemplary performance and the most active partner in peace keeping as he assured of the local government’s support in the attainment of its mission and vision.
Peredo thanked the local officials for their continuous support to the programs, projects and activities of the MPPPO. He also reminded the men and women in uniform not be biased on who they are serving - that they should always start with the community.
