LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte (PIA) – The state-run Mariano Marcos State University sustains its outstanding performance in the Bar examination as it ranked fifth in the top-performing schools with 11 to 50 examinees and produced a Top 12 passer.
Nine out of 12 takers from the university’s College of Law passed the examination administered by the Supreme Court in November 2022 nationwide. Of this number, six were first time Bar takers.
Surpassing the 43.47 percent national passing rate, MMSU obtained a 75 percent institutional passing rate.
Amid this accomplishment, MMSU takes pride in their law graduate, Lawyer Jether Corpuz who ranked 12th among the successful 3,992 Bar passers.
In an interview, Corpuz shared his routines as part of his preparation for the exam.
“Every morning, I would do devotions. I would commit the entire day to Him as the first thing. The second thing I did was discipline because discipline determines your destiny. The last thing that I did was absorption. I came to understand that absorbing the information that you read and absorbing the Bar exam questions is very important,” said Corpuz.
He also shared his sources of inspiration during his law school journey.
“I studied as if I am preparing to help the people who will soon become my clients,” he added.
He also acknowledged the support he received from his family and friends, and his devotion to God helped him stay motivated during his Bar exam preparation.
Meanwhile, in her Facebook post, MMSU President Shirley Agrupis, expressed her joy and praised their law graduates’ performance in the Bar exam.
With the recent Bar exam results, the university aims to sustain its status as a top-performing institution in legal education. (JCR/MJTAB/IJUG-Intern PIA ILOCOS NORTE)
