LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) - - The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lagawe in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) opened the “Kulpi Ad Lagawe Bazaar” on April 17 at the public plaza here.
LGU and DTI officials led the untying of the ribbon to formally open the said activity that runs until April 30, 2023 to help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) promote their products to the buying public.
Municipal Administrator Atty. Lito Baguiwa explained that the event is an avenue for MSMEs to make the economy robust once again after affected by the pandenmic. “While other sectors of the government are working on production, the LGU of Lagawe is doing its best to help them market their products,” he said.
Baguiwa shared that the LGU also conducted Christmas and Valentine's bazaars participated by MSMEs in the municipality. This he said is the best strategy that LGU – Lagawe can offer at the moment.
DTI – Ifugao Provincial Director Francis Pacio said that the bazaar which is one of the highlihts of “Kulpi Ad Lagawe" festival, showcases how the different sectors worked together as one people towards the road for recovery.
“This is very good undertaking because it showcases our culture and ingenuity as Cordillerans and Ifugaos. The products are distinctly ours, these will promote our municipality and province as well. Tourists visit us not only for the tourist spots but because of the products that we can offer them,” Pacio said.
He reiterated that while the government is here to help, all sectors should work together and do their respective shares for the benefit of everyone. He commended the officialdom of Lagawe for valuing the role of MSMEs for economic growth.
Executive Assistant Agustin Calyaen, who represented Governor Jerry Dalipog, said the provincial government unit is always supportive to the activities of the different LGUs. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
