DAVAO CITY – The ICT Tech Day Summit 2023 recently held in Davao City has showcased the technologies and infrastructure plan in Davao Region.

The summit spearheaded by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in partnership with Huawei Philippines, was aimed at providing insights and ideas for the participants’ respective communities in digital transformation and infrastructure roadmaps.

Bearing the theme: "Advancing Towards Digital Transformation," an expert panel of speakers presented a variety of topics related to digitally empowered people at the event held on March 26, 2023 at the Acacia Hotel in Davao City, which was filled with excitement from attendees coming from different parts of the country.

Among the highlights of the event were Huawei's Smart City and Smart Classroom, Congressman Cheeno Almario's brief presentation on the E-Governance Bill, and DICT's Digital Connectivity Roadmap in the region.

“By working together, we can create meaningful change that will benefit our communities," DICT Secretary Ivan John E. Uy said during his keynote message.

Secretary Maria Belen Acosta, chairperson of the Mindanao Development Authority, ICT Davao President Xavier Eric B. Manalastas, and NEDA 11 Assistant Regional Director Gilberto A. Altura expressed their support for the development initiatives employed by the national government to promote internet connectivity as one of the factors for socioeconomic growth in the Davao Region.

Huawei Philippines also featured its latest products and solutions that offer convenience and innovation in providing quality education, faster internet connectivity, efficient transactions for a robust economy, and a secured cyber environment where everyone can limitlessly explore without worrying about threats and hazards.
