Antiqueños convey gratitude for the help to Sen. Bong Go

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) -- Antiqueños expressed their gratitude to the Office Senator Christopher "Bong" Go, chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, for the assistance provided for the Province of Antique.

Mayor Gian Carlo Occeña of Sibalom cited Go for his untiring help to his constituents way back during the height of the pandemic until now, and for opening the Super Health Center in the upland barangay of Villafont.

Mayor Elmer Untaran also expressed his gratitude for the support extended by the Senator to San Jose de Buenavista, where aside from the groundbreaking rites of the Super Health center, the town also received other forms of assistance.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) released a total of P6.9 million to 2,300 beneficiaries, of which, a total of 1,300 recipients were given P3,000 financial assistance in the town of Sibalom and another 1,000 beneficiaries for the municipality of San Jose under the Aid to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

Antonio delos Santos, 63 years old from Sibalom thanked Sen. Go for bringing help to them in the form of AICS. To him, it can go a long way to buy his medicines, food and other household needs.

Another recipient Sherly Estrellado, who is a person with a disability (PWD) and a single parent of two grown-up adults who are also unable to walk normally, also expressed her gratitude to Senator Go for giving her a new wheelchair and financial assistance.

San Jose de Buenavista  Municipal Persons with Disability Affairs OfficerAmie Dava said that a total of 335 PWDs in the said town were able to get assistance from Senator Go.

Aside from the AICS distributed by DSWD, the office of Senator Go also gave out food packs, face masks, bicycles, cellphones, pairs of shoes, and balls for basketball intended for the youth.

In partnership with Sen. Go, the Office of Vice Governor Edgar Denosta also facilitated a medical and dental mission in the town of Sibalom with more than 300 beneficiaries.

Both Governor Rhodora Cadiao and Antique’s Lone District Antonio Agapito Legarda lauded the initiatives of Go in giving priority to the health concerns of the Antiqueños and in giving relief assistance to the province. (JBG/JJS/PSM/PIA-Antique)
