Sen. Bong Go  groundbreaks Super Health Centers in Antique 

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) - -  Senator Christopher Lawrence  "Bong" Go, Senate Committee on Health and Demography chair, led the groundbreaking ceremony of Super Health Centers in Antique recently.

The province is a beneficiary of three Super Health Centers located in Barangay Villafont in Sibalom town,  Barangay Igbonglo in San Jose town, and in Culasi town, where the Senator led the groundbreaking rites for the first two centers. 

Go said that the establishment of the health center is in line with his efforts to improve the country's healthcare system and bring public health services closer to the grassroots.

In his speech, he emphasized the importance of providing accessible and quality healthcare to all Filipinos, especially those in rural areas like Sibalom.

“Natutuwa po ako dahil ang napili (ang Sibalom). Ilapit po natin ang serbisyo medikal sa ating mga kababayan lalong-lalo na po dito sa Antique,” he said.

“Sa malalayo po na lugar at sa mga 4th class, 5th class, 6th class municipalities na hirap magpagawa ng sariling health facilities, dapat po ay ilapit natin ang serbisyo sa kanila. Unahin po silang bigyan, mga strategic areas, para makatulong sa mga tao dun na kailangang magpagamot,” he noted.

In a press release, the Office of Senator Bong Go said that the Super Health Center in Sibalom is part of the DOH’s efforts to bring basic health services to communities.

The health facility will offer database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: x-ray and ultrasound), pharmacy and ambulatory surgical unit. Other available services are eye, ear, nose, and throat (EENT) service, oncology centers, physical therapy and rehabilitation center and telemedicine, where remote diagnosis and ultrasound), pharmacy and ambulatory surgical unit.

The Senator also lauded the support of other legislators including Senator Loren Legarda for the fund appropriated to 307 Super Health Centers last year and another 322 units for this year nationwide.

The event was facilitated by the Department of Health and the local government units of Sibalom and San Jose de Buenavista with the support of Antique Governor Rhodora Cadiao and Vice Governor Edgar Denosta, Congressman Agapito Antonio “AA” Legarda and other local officials.
