Panay town invites senators to grace 'Lingga-anay'

ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) -- Panay town mayor Vicente Bermejo said that Senators Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go and Francis Tolentino have been invited to grace the town’s fiesta dubbed “Lingga-anay 2023” on May 1 to 4.

“We receive a lot of projects from him (Sen. Go). The latest was the Aid to Individuals in Crisis Situation he initiated for our identified and qualified constituents,” Bermejo noted, adding that the financial assistance has stimulated social and economic activities in town.

The municipality is also a recipient of a Super Health Center project of the “Mr. Malasakit” senator.

Bermejo added that Sen. Tolentino has also been invited as the local government unit seeks the funding support from the senator for the construction of a Pawa Seaport in Brgy. Pawa, Panay.

On May 2, the municipal government will also host a dinner of the gathering of about 300 priests led by Papal Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Charles Brown, Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula, Jr. and Cotabato Archbishop – Emeritus Orlando Cardinal Quevedo at the Istorya Forest Garden Resort in the town.

The gathering of priests is in view of the solemn installation of Most Reverend Victor Bendico, D.D. as the 4th Metropolitan Archbishop of Capiz on 

May 3 at the Immaculate Conception  Metropolitan Cathedral in Roxas City.

The LGU has also invited Capiz 1st District Representative Emmanuel Billones, Capiz Gov. Fredenil Castro and Roxas City mayor Ronnie Dadivas, among others, to grace the Lingga-anay activities.

The municipality’s face-to-face celebration of Lingga-anay aims to showcase its history, culture, talents of Pan-ayanon and to thank God for the bountiful graces received by its people. (JBG/AAL/PIA Capiz)
