TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - The Chikiting Ligtas Vaccination is now available at SM City Tuguegarao starting today, May 8 until May 13, 2023.

This after the Department of Health (DOH) has partnered with SM Supermalls for the conduct of Chikiting Ligtas Measles-Rubella and Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-OPV SIA) in 60 SM malls nationwide.

Dubbed as “Chikiting Ligtas sa dagdag bakuna kontra Polio, Rubella, at Tigdas”, the nationwide campaign aims to prevent impending outbreaks from these vaccine-preventable diseases and to inoculate children aged 9-59 months old against measles and rubella with the vaccination of one (1) dose of Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccine, and children aged 0-59 months old against poliovirus types 1 and 3 with the vaccination of one (1) dose of Bivalent Oral Polio Vaccine.

Earlier, Department of Health Undersecretary Eric Tayag, during his visit in Tuguegarao City, said the vaccination is free, safe, and effective.
