DILG-2 leads search for regional qualifiers for Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Award

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - The DILG-2 leads the search for qualifying barangays for the national Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Award (LTIA).

The regional assessment team, composed of representatives from the DILG, DOJ, PNP, PIA, and Rotary Club Tuguegarao Rainbow, visited nine barangays across Region 2 last April to evaluate whether the implementation of their respective Lupong Tagamapaya is up to standards according to the LTIA.

The nine barangays, which have passed the provincial nomination, will be competing against each other in three categories.

For the 4th to 6th class municipal category, competitors are (1) Bagu, Pamplona, Cagayan; (2) Mababanga, Luna, Isabela; and (3) Salvacion, Saguday, Quirino.

The 1st to 3rd class municipal competitors are (1) Andres Bonifacio, Diffun, Quirino; (2) Arcon, Tumauini, Isabela; (3) Murong, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya; and (4) San Manuel, Sto. Niño, Cagayan.

For the city category, San Andres, Santiago City and San Gabriel, Tuguegarao City will be competing against each other. 

Winners in the regional evaluation will be awarded in October, where barangays may receive cash awards amounting up to 50,000 pesos, before competing in the national level LTIA where the top awardees may receive as high as 300,000 pesos. (JCK/PIA Cagayan)
