MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Gearing towards the ease of entrepreneurs to start anew or even boost their businesses, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) along with the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) and the city government here inaugurated, May 8, the newly completed Marawi City Agriculture Food Terminal with 45 stalls open for anyone interested to display their products.
With funds from the Bangon Marawi Recovery, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program, the said infrastructure was built within the vicinity of the GMA Integrated Terminal in Barangay Poblacion, here.
MAFAR Deputy Minister Ammal Solaiman said the cost of the project was drawn from the 2020 fund, but the enforcement was a little bit late due to the global coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 pandemic that affected the procurement and bidding activities.
Despite this unfortunate event, Solaiman was still thankful that the project was completed before the set duration period ended.
MAFAR Minister Dr. Mohammad Yacob emphasized that the Marawi City Agriculture Food Terminal reflects the dedication of the Bangsamoro government to ensure food security in the entire region.
This, as he pointed out, means that a roadmap has already been established to advance programs relative to food security and nutrition.
"Ito ay isang produkto na manifestation of the food security program ng Chief Minister. Recently, the Bangsamoro Economic Development Council ay inapprove na ang food security and nutrition plan in which it will serve as a guide paano natin maimplement sa direction na gusto natin ang food security in the region," said Yacob.
