LGU-Marawi invites entreps to apply, utilize agri food terminal

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The city government here is calling on interested enterprises and businesses wishing to bring their products closer to the crowd to make use of the newly constructed Marawi City Agriculture Food Terminal with 45 available trading posts.

Marawi City Mayor Majul Gandamra said some entrepreneurs have already approached their office to express their intent to utilize their open stalls. Nonetheless, he hoped that more would still apply.

"Marami na ng pumupunta dito at nag-aaply para nang sa ganoon ay makapagsmula dito sa kanilang mga business. Iyan naman ay ating iniencourage, especially na bumabangon ang Marawi City," he said.

(Many people have already come here and applied for them to start their business. We are encouraging that act, especially since Marawi City is still recovering)

Gandamra stated that the agri-food terminal is primarily for the locals whose businesses suffered greatly as a result of the siege in 2017.

Additionally, he expressed that they would want the informal vendors along the streets to be placed as well in allowed and strategic areas like the trading spots in the aforementioned terminal.

Gandamra said now they are accepting applications as part of the process to acquire these business establishments and be able to sustain the operations of the project.

He also noted that fees were not yet fixed as they were still taking into account the latest situation of the displaced businesses.

Gandamra, however, assured that possible costs would only be minimal and just enough to ensure the maintenance of the infrastructure. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
