TAYUM, Abra (PIA) -- The newly constructed Municipal Police Station (MPS) in this town is now open to serve the public.
Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PRO-Cor) Director PBGen. David Peredo Jr., Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO) Provincial Director PCol. Froiland Lopez, Tayum Mayor Placido ‘Glen’ Eduarte and Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation President Cynlai Osorio representing the Provincial Government of Abra led the inauguration of the said facility.
The P6.4 million worth MPS was constructed on a 600 sq.m lot donated by the LGU, and it is equipped with modern design features such as spacious top floor function hall, several rooms and a detention cell.
Eduarte vowed to continuously support the initiatives of the MPS towards sustainable peace and order in the town.
“In behalf of my office and the people of Tayum, I will continue to support whatever undertakings the Philippine National Police will do for the next years ahead,” Eduarte committed
Peredo praised the collective efforts of the LGU and the PNP in the successful construction of the MPS building.
He also led the inauguration of the newly constructed ‘Gov. Andres Bernos’ Hall at the Abra PPO Headquartes. He also led the official turn-over of 37 units of Galil Basic Assault Rifles as firearms augmentation initiative for Abra police forces.
In an interview with Peredo, he assessed the overall peace and order situation in the Cordillera Region as “Manageable” as several MPS have reported zero crime incidents in their area of responsibility.
“As per monitoring and reports ng mga provincial directors, manageable ang peace and order ng Cordillera especially dito sa Abra, may mga towns na zero crime incidents ang reports nila,” he said. (JDP/CAGT – PIA CAR, Abra)
