PSA seeks Ilonggos’ support to May 2023 Labor Force Survey

ILOILO CITY (PIA) -- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Iloilo is seeking the support and cooperation of the Ilonggos to the Labor Force Survey (LFS) that will be conducted this month.

In a media release, PSA OIC Provincial Statistics Officer Jerry Dolutan said that the survey started on May 8 and will end on May 27.

He also requested the support and cooperation of the public as well as that of the concerned local government units and barangays for the undertaking.

A total of 196 samples from the identified barangays in Iloilo City, Passi City and the municipalities of Lambunao, Banate, New Lucena, Tigbauan and Oton will be collected by four trained statistical researchers in the survey.

PSA conducts LFS, a nationwide survey of households, to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans and formulation of policies affecting the labor market and provides information as a basis for the formulation of policies and programs on the creation and generation of gainful employment and livelihood opportunities, the reduction of unemployment and underemployment, and the improvement of the labor force participation rate.

It also aims to determine whether the respondent or a member of his or her household possesses a financial account and an electronic device that is used for digital financial transactions.(AAL/ED/PIA 6)
