QC hosts trade fair for ‘MOMpreneurs’ on Mother’s Day

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) – The local government of Quezon City launched the 14th ‘Made in QC Trade Caravan’ in honor of Mother’s Day celebration on May 14, 2023.

The Mother’s Day Market featured the ‘Proudly Original Products of Quezon City’ (POPQC) that are locally made and produced by QCitizen solo parents, people deprived of liberty (PDLs), persons with disabilities (PWDs), home-based hobbyists, and other micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

These include food, handcrafted accessories, soap, candles, perfume, bags, clothes, as well as personal care products and other decorative items.

City Mayor Joy Belmonte was joined by Chief of Staff Rowena Macatao to personally visit the business booths that were organized and facilitated under the QC Small Business and Cooperatives Development Promotions Office.

The MIQC trade fair activity was first introduced through a five-volume book in line with the city government’s aim to fuel the recovery and harness the further potential of MSMEs that were gravely affected by the pandemic.

At present, it caters to a total of 200 business owners from the six districts of the city as it continues to strengthen and flourish the industry of the local QCitizen entrepreneurs. (PIA-NCR)
