
SOLANO, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - This province recently joined the nationwide launching of the Oral Polio, Rubella Vaccine Immunization.
Headed by the Department of Health (DOH) and the Provincial Integrated Health Office (PIHO), 12 children were given Measles -Rubella Oral Polio Vaccines at the Pasalubong Center in this town.
The Oral Polio, Rubella Vaccine Immunization aims to ensure the protection of 0-59 month old children from polio disease and 9-59 month old children from Measles disease.
The National Immunization Program ang Simultaneous Measles-Rubella and Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity carried the theme “Chikiting Ligtas 2023: Join the Big Catch Up, Magpabakuna para sa Healthy Pilipinas!"
The provincial launching was led by Dr. Romulo Turingan, Chief of Local Health Support Division of DOH Regional Office, DOH Provincial Coordinator Jan Tugadi, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Anthony Cortez, Dr. Rowena Constantino, Vice President of the Philippine Pediatric Society, Nueva Vizcaya Chapter and Solano Vice Mayor Eddie Tiongson.
“We are encouraging our parents to bring their kids to their nearest Rural Health Units (RHUs) to get a shot to ensure their protection from polio and measles,” Tugadi, the DOH Provincial Coordinator said. (BME/PIA NVizcaya) PIA Photos
