BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- Tiniyak ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST) ang patuloy na pagpapatupad sa mga programa at serbisyo na naaayon sa inalatag na socio economic agenda ng pamahalaan upang maresolba ang pangangailangan ng mga mamamayang Pilipino.
 
"DOST remains steadfast in its commitment to provide central direction, leadership and coordination of scientific and technological efforts that are geared towards maximum economic and social benefits for the people. We will continue to work more closely with our partners in government, both at the national and local level, industry, and civil society to achieve our goals together with the academe and build a better future for all Filipinos," pagtitiyak ni DOST Secretary Renato Solidum.

Ayon sa opisyal, nakapagbigay na sila ng suporta sa sektor ng agrikultura sa pamamagitan ng kanilang Research and Development programs bukod pa sa pagpapatayo ng mga Shared Service Facilities para sa food processing at farm mechanization sa pamamagitan ng mga state universities and colleges.
 
Nagbigay din aniya sila ng suporta sa sektor ng transportasyon sa pamamagitan ng modernization program at pagbuo ng e-mobility vehicles, at ang implementasyon ng intelligent transport systems.
 
Bumubuo rin sila ng innovative solutions para sa kalusugan at edukasyon gamit kanilang mga pananaliksik.

Sinabi ng kalihim na pinag-aaralan nila ang pagpapababa sa presyo ng enerhiya sa pamamagitan ng energy efficiency at conservation programs.
 
"We will, of course, support the other departments of government as we play a major role in providing the science, technology and innovation solutions to their mandates. We will focus on increasing employability, encouraging research and development and innovation, and creating green jobs thru the establishment of livable and sustainable communities," si Solidum.
 
Kinilala rin ng opisyal ang kahalagahan ng kolaborasyon at partnerships ng mga kinauukulang stakeholders upang makamit ang hangaring maisulong ang agham at teknolohiya para sa benepisyo ng mga Pilipino.
