School Division through the leadership of Schools Division Superintendent Susana Bautista along with Calapan City Mayor Marilou F. Morillo led the send-off ceremony for the Calapeno athletes who will be competing in this year’s MIMAROPA Regional Athletic Association (MIMAROPARAA) Meet this May 23-26 in Romblon, Romblon.
Bautista and Morillo both assured full support to the event especially for those athletes who will compete in the forthcoming sports activities.
Morillo emphasized three important words of encouragement to the athletes for their MRAA stint to be successful. First is to always pray, believe in the power of the Creator that He will be there for them in every step of the way; second is the belief in onself that with preparation and believing in ones' skill comes fruition after every struggle, and lastly is discipline, to always uphold the morals and good conduct of being a true Calapeño.
Aside from the words of encouragement, the DepEd along with the City Government of Calapan handed out bags with complete uniforms inside to the 167 delegates. Utensils and hygiene kits were also given in order to protect themselves from possible infection from the Covid-19. And lastly, the athletes receivedthe local government an amount of P2,700 each as pocket money.
Also, part of the activity is the orientation of athletes, coaches, officials and parents of the athletes who will support their children in the upcoming MIMAROPARAA 2023. The orientation was led by Education Program Supervisor Allan Paigao, and DepEd Division Legal Officer Atty. Maria Ginalyn C. Calderon for the Learner Rights and Protection Policy.
