MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The completion of the integrated school buildings in Barangay Moncado Kadingilan here is a reflection of the determination to advance better education in the city, the Department of Education (DepEd) said.
DepEd Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Services (DRRMS) Director Lawyer Christian Rivero emphasized that while this project shows the strong partnership between his office and another implementing agency, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-10, it also exhibits the persistence of the government and teaching force to keep all learners in the locality educated.
"Ang building na ito (this building) is a testament ng ating (of our) partnership. More than that, it is also a testament to our courage, tenacity, and passion to rebuild better and continue education," he said.
Seeing personally the facade of the school building units, Rivero stated that he was impressed with the obvious workmanship and construction design.
As such, he congratulated the DPWH-10 for an effort well maximized. Following this, Rivero expressed his desire to make the school operational as soon as possible.
He also wanted the buildings to be safe for all students, noting that there should be fences and pathways that remain danger-free.
Agreeing to this, the city government here assured that it would back the DepEd in pushing its goal for the integrated school building. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
