MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The Department of Public Works and Highways (DWPH) Regional Office 10 has guaranteed the public here that they will toil until the construction of all school buildings under their supervision is completed.
Accordingly, under the rehabilitation program implemented in this city, the DPWH-10 is set to construct 10 units of 20-classroom, four-story integrated school buildings in Barangay Moncado Kadingilan.
As of May 17 this year, four buildings have already been turned over to the Department of Education (DepEd), thus, leaving six units on the list of pending work.
DPWH-10 Focal Person for Task Force Bangon Marawi, Engr. Mikunug Macabantog, earlier explained that the implementation of this project was quite delayed due to some encountered challenges in the foundation works.
He stressed that this has been one of their crucial responsibilities under the rehabilitation program; however, they wanted to make it clear that they would remain existent until their task was entirely done.
"Rest assured that the remaining buildings will be finished so that they can be used by the Department of Education teaching force," said Macabantog.
DPWH-10 Construction Division Chief Engr. Virgie Nayve reaffirmed this, underscoring their commitment to stepping up their efforts to complete the project.
"The DPWH shall remain zealous in furthering development in our communities and for the betterment of the Filipino people. We will try our best that the remaining school buildings will be completed for us to inaugurate very soon," she said.
Nayve said they believe that the completion of these school buildings would realize the mission of the government which is to establish a suitable area where students and teachers can both share and acquire knowledge and skills to hone their potential, and eventually transform them into successful members of the society.
