LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) - - The capital town of Lagawe recently celebrated its town fiesta in thanksgiving and gratitude for God’s unending blessings and for forever favoring them against all odds.
“This year’s celebration of the Kulpi Ad Lagawe is an expression of thanks and gratitude,” said Mayor Martin Habawel Jr. He acknowledged that with the support and cooperation of all sectors, the municipality continues to rise above the challenges and delivers what is expected from the government and the community following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Governor Jerry Dalipog, the guest speaker during the fiesta’s opening day, lauded the municipality of Lagawe on how it evolved and rose to the challenges even in the face of adversity during the pandemic.
“We credit our economic resilience to the resolute and steadfast commitment of everyone manifested to work for the common good especially for our most vulnerable sector. This proves that by working collectively, we can surpass our targets despite the unexpected global slumps or upsurges and the constantly evolving changes in our environment, our needs, and our priorities,” said Dalipog.
Dalipog encouraged the community to celebrate their town fiesta with a greater sense of festivity and positivity.
Kulpi Ad Lagawe 2023: A Thanksgiving Celebration was participated by the 20 barangays of Lagawe, partner agencies, civic organizations, and the micro-, small, and medium-sized enterprises and the public.
The one-week town fiesta featured the cultural day; NGAs, NGOs, and OFWs Night, Inabol Fashion show; agro-industrial fair, senior citizen’s Zumba competition, sports competition, the first-ever merchant’s parade and pets’ parade; students’ day; and the Buyan ya Wigan di Kulpi, among others.(JDP/FBR-PIA CAR)
