MABALACAT CITY (PIA) -- Mabalacat City College (MCC) inaugurated three campus projects.

These include the Lifelong Learning Center located in Sapang Biabas Resettlement which intends to aid the employment of both students and community members.

MCC President Michelle Aguilar-Ong said the center will help eradicate poverty in the community as it will serve as the dedicated training facility for MCC's workforce development programs by providing specialized training opportunities to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge required to excel in the dynamic job market.

In addition, MCC also opened the Idea Hub which will provide an innovative space for collaborative thinking and fostering intellectual exploration among students. 

The hub, completed through the grant provided by Commission on Higher Education (CHED), is equipped with the latest Macintosh technology which will bolster MCC's internationalization program. 

It is expected to facilitate collaborative online international learning between MCC and other CHED beneficiaries, as well as international colleges and universities. 

CHED Chairperson J. Prospero De Vera III commended MCC for its efforts in providing lifelong opportunities for its students and community. 

“You see a local college really pioneering in many ways. First, making sure they link with industry, they link with local government; second, they develop programs that are conceptualized along lifelong learning; and number three, as you see today there’s a lot of focus on technology mediated learning,” he stated.

The official also lauded the college for going into areas that many of the local universities in the country are not going into to create an inclusive environment where education is accessible to all.

The local government-run educational institution likewise inaugurated a gym which intends to support the physical well-being of students while they pursue their academic goals. 

MCC pledged to continue its dedication in providing quality education and creating an environment that encourages holistic development and its commitment to empowering individuals and shaping the future of the nation through education. (CLJD/JLDC-PIA 3)
