MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Mayor Majul Gandamra is optimistic that the newly constructed building of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) will lead his city to the gateway of digitalization.
"These two centers will help greatly in Marawi City's effort to go digital and improve information technology in the city," he said.
Gandamra stressed that it has been recognized that his city is lagging behind other localities in terms of information technology.
Nonetheless, he is hopeful that this concern will be addressed in no time and that his local government unit will be aided in delivering its services through better connectivity, especially since a new digital infrastructure in the city will serve a vital purpose.
During the official turnover of the building, the DICT said it would serve as the Digital Transformation Center, where digital literacy training would be spearheaded, and people needing an internet connection could use it as their workplace.
At the same time, it would also act as the Network Operation Center, which would ensure internet connectivity in public places, including government offices.
Taking into account the advantages to be brought about by the infrastructure, Gandamra guaranteed to maximize the use of the project.
"Rest assured that this facility will be utilized to its full potential," he said. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
