DAVAO CITY (PIA) -- The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Region XI has recently provided two units of brand new sewing machines for the IP women beneficiaries of Barangay Kidadan in Sta. Maria town, Davao Occidental.

The assistance was implemented through the Integrated Ancestral Domain Development Approach-Culturally Responsive Economic Program (IADDA-CREP) which was aimed at augmenting the financial needs of the beneficiaries.

The sewing machines would be of big help to the IP women in making and repairing clothes, dress and uniform for their children and the entire community, and for traditional attire-making.

Provincial Director lawyer Leonor Oralde-Quintayo of NCIP-Davao Occidental received the units ion behalf of the beneficiaries who would soon benefit from the livelihood assistance.

NCIP-XI has committed to bring more government services and support to far-flung communities in the province in line with the implementation of the Executive Order 70 or the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC). (FNBD/PIA Davao Occidental)
