Council created  for Lamut  LGU radio station

LAMUT, Ifugao (PIA) - -   In order to have a more a functional facility to address the information needs of the listening public, Mayor Victomar Bunnol issued Executive Order No. 28 creating the DWPH 105.3 Lamut FM Radio Council operated by  the municipal government.

“The Local Government Unit (LGU) strongly believes that one of the best and fastest mode of information dissemination of the different programs and activities of the LGU, line agencies and private institutions is through broadcast,” Bunnol stated.

DWPH 105.3 Lamut FM  covers  parts of Ifugao  and reaches also some  areas in  Nueva Vizcaya, Isabela, Quirino and other nearby provinces.

He noted that there  was  no council   created  to  ensure a more efficient and effective management of the radio station  which resulted to less maximization of its use as intended.

Bunnol  stressed  that the Lamut FM radio,  when provided with regular and more information program and is fully functional,  will invite more listeners and eventually invite more advertisers to which in effect will increase the income of the facility.

The DWPH 105.3 Lamut FM Radio Council  will  be chaired by  mayor with Vice Mayor Everda Desiree  Dulinayan as Vice Chairperson. Members are  heads of offices of the LGU and radio personnel.

The council will  develop a plan for the operation of the radio station; assess the operation of the Lamut FM and identify concerns for action; proposes a budget for operation of the council and process requirements in the renewal of the memorandum of agreement with the Philippine Broadcasting Service and license of radio operator.

It  will also  formulate policies in the operation of the radio through the approval of the Sangguniang Bayan and determine the required staffing for a functional radio station. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
