DIFFUN, Quirino (PIA) - - A 32 years old, married, self-employed man and a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Ricarte Norte, Diffun was arrested by operatives in an anti-illegal drug buy-bust operation yesterday, May 23, 2023 at around 5:55 in the afternoon at the same barangay.

The buy-bust operation was carried out by joint personnel of Diffun Police Station led by Police Major Juanito Balite, Jr., chief of police; Quirino Police Intelligence Unit led by PMAJ Jaime B. Benedicto Jr, chief; Quirino Police Drug Enforcement Unit led by PMAJ Rodel C. Gervacio and personnel of the Regional Intelligence Unit 2.

Balite said they received an information about the said illegal activity of the suspect and after a thorough validation, a buy-bust operation was conducted.

The drug suspect was arrested on the act of selling one piece heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu (buy-bust item) to the police officer who posed as poseur buyer.

Confiscated from the direct possession, control and custody of the suspect were one one piece Php 1,000.00 paper bill, used as buy bust money, one empty pack of San Marino cigarette containing two pieces heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing crystalline-like substance believed to be shabu.

Police Major Balite said the estimated weight of the confiscated drugs is more or less 7.0 gram and SDP value of more or less Php 47,600.00.

Also confiscated from the suspect were two pieces color brown wone unittaining ID pictures, receipts, cash amounting to Php 2,100.00), identification cards, ATM cards, , two transparent plastic toothbrush case containing used foils, three  pieces paper straws, one  pack unused transparent plastic sachet, two  rolls of unused foil, one color black sunglasses casing, four pieces used disposable lighters, one  unit VIVO Y30 color black, one piece car key, one pack sterilized bear brand milk and one unit single motorcycle Suzuki Raider 150 color blue without plate number.

The inventory of the pieces of evidence was made at the place of arrest in the presence of the suspect and it was witnessed by DOJ representative Elpidio Gargabite Jr; PIA/media representative Kel Morian C. Abenoja and Brgy. Captain Eduardo F. Estela.

The suspect was charged with violation of Section 5, 11 and 12 of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act 2002. (TCB/PIA Quirino)
