PGOM staff undergo standard first aid training in OccMin

SAN JOSE, Occidental Mindoro (PIA) – Twenty-four (24) participants from various offices under the Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro (PGOM) underwent three-day Standard First Aid (SFA) Training spearheaded by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH) Mimaropa.

According to PDRRMO Admin and Training Division Chief Keneth P. Baronggo, the activity aims to capacitate employees, particularly office drivers, to be able to administer basic first aid when needed.

“[Ang training ay] intended for PGOM drivers dahil sila ang laging nasa kalsada at sila ang nakakakita madalas ng aksidente (The training is intended for PGOM drivers because they are always on the road and exposed to accidents), Baronggo shared.

Participants were taught the basics of SFA, which includes proper bandaging, splinting, carrying, and dragging of patients during an accident or disaster response.

The participants are the second batch of trainees and will be issued an SFA license from DOH which certifies their eligibility in administering SFA. (DSG/PIA Mimaropa-OccMin)
