BAUANG, La Union (PIA) -- The National Economic Development Authority (NEDA)-Region 1 conducts a Knowledge Management (KM) Fiesta at Hotel Ariana, Bauang, La Union on May 30.
The KM fiesta is now on its third year, and as a tribute to Region 1 being the host, the theme “Sinnaranay: Enhancing Knowledge Transfer and Innovation through Communities of Practice” was adopted.
Sinnaranay is an Iluko term for community support which embodies the culture of sharing resources, no matter the value to primarily feature the Knowledge Management initiatives in Region 1.
It was participated by different regional line agencies, local government units, non-government organizations, academe, and other stakeholders, which some of them shared their best practices on innovations through knowledge sharing session (KSS).
Among the institutions who presented their programs and innovations were Christopher Maynes II of Saint Louis College who presented their Management Course for Local Officials and Functionaries in Region 1, while Department of Trade and Industry OIC Regional Director Grace Baluyan presented their Enhanced Business Profile of the DTI Negosyo Center.
Some other presenters were Rogelio Bismonte III from DSWD and presented their SLP Talino: Pagyabong sa Gitna ng Pandemya program; Kameko D. Marquez from provincial government of La Union presented their La Union Probinsyanihan: Good Governance rooted on the Iloko Culture and Heritage; and Leonardo D. Tejano, MaEd from Mariano Marcos State University presented the Enriching Ilokano and Amianan Knowledges.
These presentations contribute to the promotion of knowledge management and serves as a platform to showcase and appreciate the significance of KM in fostering local development and in advancing national socioeconomic development.
Officer-in-Charge Regional Director Irenea Ubungen emphasized on her speech the importance and significance of this event especially on the journey towards achieving sustainable development goals.
She said “Knowledge is power, but it is more powerful when it is shared. Our small acts together through building of knowledge sharing, is a very important asset towards achieving our goal which is to have a matatag, maginhawa at panatag na buhay para sa lahat.”
Aside from the KSS, NEDA also spearheaded the unveiling of the Regional Development Plan 2023-2028 and the signing of the pledge of commitment that symbolizes the support of partner agencies to attain a Resilient, All-inclusive, Competitive and Healthy region 1.
