BAUANG, La Union (PIA)—The Regional Development Council (RDC) Ilocos formally launched the Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2023-2028 on May 30, at Hotel Ariana, Bauang, La Union.
The RDP 2023-2028 was signed thru RDC Resolution No. 02-2023 last March 22 this year.
National Economic Development Authority (NEDA)-Region 1 Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Regional Director Irenea Ubungen, alongside with OIC Assistant Director Racquel T. Atawe, NEDA Regional Development Group (RDG) Assistant Secretary Greg L. Pineda and RDC Co-Chairperson Mary Jane Ortega spearheaded the unveiling ceremony, which was also graced by partner regional line agency (RLA) directors.

The RDP is the overall blueprint of the council which envisions to revitalize into more resilient, inclusive, and competitive region where safe, diverse, and prosperous people enjoy an abundance of sustained equitable opportunities, strategic investments, and ingenious innovations enabled by good governance.
It also aims to make ‘Ambisyon Natin 2040’ happen, which goal is to strengthen family and community ties, enjoy comfortable lifestyle and have a secured future and reach international commitment on achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) by 2030.
Further, the RDP 2023-2028 is also anchored with the 8-point socio-economic agenda of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in addressing immediate concerns in the country.
