Pag-IBIG Fund opens new office in Antique

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) -- The Pag-IBIG Fund relaunched its new office here, now in a much bigger space, to cater the increasing number of clients.

Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene C. Acosta said that the opening of the new office in a much more spacious location is in line with the continuing efforts of the agency to bring its services closer and accessible to the people.

The branch in San Jose, Antique initially opened in December 2019 in a smaller space at the Robinsons Mall until it transferred to its current location.

To Acosta, this location is good enough to better and conveniently serve the clients of the agency, thus, she expressed her thanks to the management of the mall for allowing them in such a bigger area.

“With the opening of this branch, Pag-IBIG will be nearer to its members in nearby towns which is expected to serve about 780 employers and more than 15,000 members,” she said.

Acosta emphasized that the members need not go to Iloilo, traveling more than 100 kilometers and to Kalibo (for towns in northern Antique), to avail of the services of Pag-IBIG Fund.

When asked about the request of Governor Rhodora Cadiao about the opening of a satellite office in northern Antique, Acosta responded positively to the request, noting the existing Lingkod Pag-IBIG on Wheels and scheduled satellite services that could be done in coordination with the concerned local government units.

For the part of Governor Cadiao, she lauded this undertaking of the Pag-BIG Fund in reaching out to its clients and providing them with a convenient space to transact business with.

The governor said the opening of the new office is a significant milestone towards progress and service for the Antiqueños.

She also shared optimism that the Antiqueños would take advantage of the Pag-IBIG Fund’s programs and services to have a house of their own through its housing program or at least use the financial loans to gain economic empowerment.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by an Antiqueño trustee of Pag-IBIG Fund Atty. Cornelio P. Aldon; Deputy Chief Executive Officer Alexander Hilario G. Aguilar; Vice President for Members Service Operations Visayas- Mindanao group Rio R. Teves; Ronnie Abelo, Area Head for Western Visayas-Member Services Branch Operations; Antique Branch Manager Donald Alton Cahilo and other officials of the fund; Vice Governor Denosta and the local officials of San Jose de Buenavista.
