BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- A University of the Cordillera graduate is the topnotcher of the May 2023 Certified Public Accountants Licensure Examination.

Alexander Salvador Centino Bandiola Jr. is  the top 1 in the  CPA board examinations released by the Professional Regulation Commission on May 30, 2023.

Bandiola,  from City Camp, Baguio City,  got  an overall rating of 89.50%.He  graduated magna cum laude from UC( formerly the Baguio Colleges Foundation) in 2020 and  leads  20 passers out of the 27 UC examinees.

Bandiola said that he dreamed of becoming a topnotcher since he entered the school of accountancy but he did not expect the  top 1 spot. He  encourages  his fellow graduates and students of accountancy to study hard and pursue their dreams amidst the challenges in life.

Meanwhile, Neftali Blase Suarez from Saint Louis University is the Top 7 of the CPA board exams with a  rating of 88.17%. She leads the 72 passers out of 135 examinees from SLU.

The Commission on Higher  Education – Cordillera congratulated the new accountants especially the two topnotchers who they said “have truly created a new landmark in the history of CAR’s higher education institutions.”

“HEIs in the Cordillera Administrative Region have long been recognized as one of the beacons of performance in the academe. This achievement further solidifies the region's reputation as a hub of excellence in education. The commitment of these institutions to nurturing exceptional talent and providing a conducive learning environment has been instrumental in shaping the success of their students,” CHED-CAR said in a statement.

The PRC announced that 2,239 out of 7,376 passed the Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants given by the Board of Accountancy in N. C. R., Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao  and  TZamboanga  in  May 2023. 

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line  on  July 12 - 14, July 17 - 21 and July 24 - 25, 2023 . Passers are called to go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration. 

Those who will register are required to bring the following: downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, notice of admission (for identification only), two pieces passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag), two sets of documentary stamps and one   short brown envelope. 

 Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals. (JDP/RMC- PIA-CAR)
