Gov. Fredenil Castro disclosed that based on the information from the Provincial Health Office, Capiz logged only 33 out of 2,613 active COVID-19 cases in Western Visayas.

"Our success in the battle against the pandemic is due to the implementation of the Minimum Public Health Standard (MPHS) like wearing of face mask, maintaining a physical distance and washing of hands," the governor noted.

A strict compliance to the Department of Health's MPHS was publicly called on by Gov. Castro early last May amid the increasing number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the province.
