DAVAO CITY (PIA) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region XI will once again provide employment opportunities for job seekers in the region during the “Kalayaan Jobs Fair 2023” which will offer more than a thousand vacancies at SM City Davao Annex building on June 12.
In celebration of the 125th Philippine Independence Day in Davao City, the job fair is organized in partnership with the Davao City Public Employment Service Office (PESO), SM City Davao, and Mapua Malayan Colleges of Mindanao.
DOLE-XI is expecting 40 local employers and 10 overseas employers to post their vacancies during the job fair, said Lorraine Grace Ugsang of the Davao City Field Office during the Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City Davao on June 5.
Ugsang said that as of June 2, there are 29 confirmed local employers to offer 2,051 vacant positions, while four overseas companies will place around 1,470 job vacancies.
The top 10 local job vacancies to be opened during the “Kalayaan Job Fair 2023” are delivery riders/drivers, operations management trainees, service crews, cashiers, baggers, customer assistants, marketing professionals, property specialists, accounting staff, and marketing assistants.
There will be a hybrid setup for the registration process where the applicants can opt for the online platform or walk-in registration. The applicants are required to undergo a face-to-face screening and interview during the job fair.
“For this year’s job fair, we are trying to incorporate the job seekers assistance desk. For this section during the jobs fair, you can find employees from DOLE who can assist you when you need help in printing or photocopying your resumé and requirements of the employer,” Ugsang said.
DOLE-XI has also assured that this year’s job fair venue at SM City Davao will provide a conducive environment for the applicants.
“So yearly, we are trying to improve but these improvements are in addition to what has already been practiced for years now,” she said.
Apart from the jobs fair at SM City Davao, there will be a simultaneous job fair event to be held at the Mapua Malayan Colleges of Mindanao.
Other featured activity is on child labor program entitled “Araw ng Kalayaan Para sa Batang Malaya” also to be staged at the MMCM, as part of DOLE’s commitment to supporting Global Campaign against Child Labor.
